What is RSS?

You must be here because you want to know what RSS is. You’ve seen it a lot of times, you’re seeing it right now on StupidWiz.com’s sidebar, and you’d really like to know what on earth RSS is!
Well, it is a format for content sharing and syndication. RSS feeds (content) can be downloaded by users through RSS readers or feed aggregators. These readers can be downloaded for free. If you don’t know which reader to choose, we’d recommend RSSOwl. If you want to read the feeds on your browser, use a web-based reader like the Google Reader.
Why subscribe to feeds and use an RSS reader…
If one can just go to the website and read all the content there? That’s simple, it’s because it’s easier to organize all your favorite sites using a reader! Imagine if you had 50 favorite sites. Do you think it’s such a good idea to open 50 tabs/windows just to check if they updated? We think that it’s a horribly stupid idea! If you use a reader, you would be notified once your favorites publish an update. That way, you won’t miss a thing!
